My favourite GMH at the moment is this one...

A week before my junior prom, my cousin died in a car accident.
She had wanted a yellow prom dress, but the one she picked out was blue. I planted pink flowers in her memory (couldn't find yellow), but they died in the frost.
The flowers re-budded and grew back yellow.
Messages from heaven GMH.

Why?
Because I believe that everyone needs a little hope that things happen for a reason.
Maybe we can put it all down to fate... Fate already setting our path to follow... Maybe the flowers were destined to turn yellow to prove to this person that their cousin is watching over them, protecting them.
Maybe it's her path to die to protect...
I guess we'll never truely know until we're there.

Faults and Flaws

These faults and flaws we have, we call imperfections.

Ignoring these makes a person stronger.

The stronger that person gets the more they're prepared for the future.

The future is full of life and death.

Life keeps us growing.

The Big Issue

One copy left.

The rain starts to fall.

£1.70 for a copy.

keep the 30p change.

It'll mean more to you than me.

That 30p extra could change his life.

When to me it was just a few coins.

It's the little unnoticed things that mean the most.

As I walk past I hope his life gets better.

The Drowning Girl

I've been reading this book called The Drowning Girl by Margaret Leroy.

Three Words

What. A. Book.

What if there was something deeply wrong with your - and nobody believed you?

Thats what you first start with. That sentence and the picture of a young girl on the front cover. Honestly, who knew that the book would make me cry so much? Yet, I can't seem to be able to put the book down? It's taken me twice as long as usual also including revision time and what not but I am finally on chapter 50 out of 57, but I'll read before I sleep I think.

Single mum - Grace, and her daughter - Sylvie live in london.

Normal enough?

Sylvie has a odd phobia of water which sends her into violent tantrums if water splashes into her face.

Yeah, well some children are like that. Difficult children.

Grace realises that their is more to these tantrums than she likes to admit to anyone, even herself. So in order to help her little girl they embark on a disturbing journey to the west coast of Ireland.

Holiday? Everyone goes on holiday at least once in their lives.

But this journey isn't just a trip from the suburbs, it's a trip which will bring Grace to question not only her beliefs, but herself as a mother.

Christina Rossettti

She has written some really deep poems during her life. One of my favorite poems by her is Goblin Market which is all about two sisters who are tempted to take the Goblins fruit. This is referred to as a children poem but the content could be seen as sexual, as the goblins are tempting them to loose their virginity. Some people believe this was inspired by her volunteer work in a care home for prostitutes.

Rossetti presents other things within her poems such as relationships: friendships, lovers, family, sisterhood, ect. Which gives us a sense of Rossetti wanting more within her own life from the people around her. Maybe even wanting women to be more independent in the sense that she saw so many women acting as prostitutes - letting men walk all over them.

Rossetti also has some interesting views on religion like in Convent Threshold where Rossetti talks about going from one place to another. In this poem I believe it is relating to the threshold of life on earth and death in heaven. The line (26) 'Racked, roasted, crushed, wrenched limb from limb' this line is related to Jesus.

W.H.Auden

Auden wrote the famous poem1st September 1939 which can relate to more than one significant events in history making it a universal truth. This poem uses very strong language to describe the world around him. Auden was sat in a gay bar when he wrote this poem, which relates to himself and the feelings of the world around him.

Another one of his poem is Miss Gee which is a powerful power which Auden wrote as he lost his faith. This poem can be taken one of two ways... 1) Miss Gee is being punished for not fulfilling her life's purpose of having children and being a mother. 2) Auden trys to say that good things don't always happen to good people. (Kind of a 'you only live once kinda thing')

And that would be all the poetry stuff done :)
